On the market today there are two main types of sound system available: SQ and SPL. But what’s the difference?
SQ
Simply put, SQ sound systems are designed to provide you with the best possible audio quality, prioritising clarity and fidelity over anything else. You’ll still get a good punch of bass, but it’ll compliment the audio. Made from the highest quality materials. Remember: when it comes to SQ, bigger isn’t always better.
How do you define what sounds better? Well you can’t really measure it. Each component of your SQ system will work together to accurately reproduce the high, middle and lower frequencies of your music.

SPL
SPL sound systems, on the other hand can be measured. A decibel meter can be used to determine just how loud your sound system is. SPL is about moving as much air as possible to create the low frequencies that are associated with a bassline. Every component has to work in sync to not only deliver the loudest, most earth trembling bass you’ve ever heard, but to also retain as much sound quality and clarity as possible. Of course there is a trade-off. You won’t be able to recreate the audio quality of a SQ system but remember, that’s not why you are here. You want LOUD, powerful music!

When it comes to which one is better, there isn’t a winner. It depends on customer preference. If you value audio quality and want a bassline to improve it, go SQ. If you’re addicted to bass and just want bragging rights over your mates about who’s is the loudest, then go SPL.
